Clearly I’m out of shape. We only walked for a couple of miles yesterday down to the LaFayette Place Campground from Cannon Cliff Parking but I’m feeling tired and sore today. Anyhow, here’s a picture that I took at the campground. Later we did reward ourselves with food and beers that I mentioned late yesterday.
I’ve just sent off an email to micro.blog help enquiring about how to pay for a subscription. I’ve so far only been offered the Premium price of $10 a month but I’m more comfortable as a retired person with the $5 a month subscription payment. Also, I don’t need the extra features provided at the higher level.
We had a late Father’s Day dinner this afternoon. The restaurant was actually full at 5:30 and we had to wait for about 15 minutes to get an outside table on the front deck. It was worth the wait, however. And the beer that I was drinking comes from the Schilling Beer Co in Littleton NH - it’s a Czech Alexandr Pilsner. 🍺
The man from Whitfield has just come to the Little House and sprayed the foundation to discourage the carpenter ants. He did it last year in June on the 21st so it’s been almost exactly a year since the last treatment.
I mentioned liquid propane yesterday when I talked about straining my back. Here is an article on how to safely store this material, and here is another.
I strained my back this afternoon for the second time in about a month. This time it happened when I was placing a liquid propane 50 pound container into the trunk of our car.
We are normally not in northern New Hampshire at this time of the year and so I don’t get to photography lupine. Anyhow here’s a picture of one of these flowers that I took last night in the front yard of the Little House where we are presently staying. I’m glad that I can post this to my micro.blog rather than having to mess with Instagram.
I finally have a new belt courtesy of the local Walmart. This reminds me of the problems I have going through Airport security and having to remove my belt. I have to keep hold of of my trousers to prevent slippage while keeping track of my x-rayed computer, iPad camera, etc. Life is too complicated!
I hope these entries don’t go away when I get to the of my two week evaluation. I’m presuming I’ll just go to the free version of Micro.blog at that time.
I really like using Day One for journaling. It records not only date and time of an entry but also location and weather conditions. Location can be recorded from the metadata of an included photo for an entry entered after the fact. Very elegant indeed.
I’m trying to keep cool this week, but living in the south of the US makes that something of a challenge. At least we have AC but I do like to do a daily walk outside. Lately, I’ve been doing this first thing in the morning before the heat and humidity really kick in.
Even if you don’t own a EV or hybrid vehicle you can still get better gas mileage and therefore fight back against rising prices by simply lowering the speed at which you drive. I’m presently getting about 66 mpg on the highway at 70 mph with our Prius. I guess I should also slow down to do even better!
My daughter has a couple of cats and I think she can relate to the cartoon. They even bought the cat climbing device a few weeks ago but then a box arrives…
He’s saying that pro and serious amateur photographers will be buying lenses when they upgrade because of the superb quality of these products made for mirrorless cameras.
