Today we headed south from Winthrop towards the somewhat larger town of Chelan. On the way we stopped to check out the view over the Wells Salmon Hachery from the Wells Dam Rest Area And Information Center. This place is nicely showcasing the work done on the dam and how the environment has been preserved. I learned a lot about salmon ladders, for example.

Here we are in Winthrop on the Eastern edge of the Northern Cascades just a little over two week since returning from Japan. I need to write some entries about that trip before too long!
I just checked some of my old notes and I see that I had a blood test back in 2016 that showed antibodies for measles and mumps. Good to know that I have immunity after being exposed sometime as a child in the late ’40s or ’50s.
As usual low tides are always good for patterns.
My teeth cleaning appointment at the dentist yesterday could have turned out better, although it’s probably for the best. Today I was back getting a temporary crown with the permanent coming in a few days.

My wife and I were all prepared to see the Oscar nominated animated shorts at our local cinema yesterday and were surprised to find out we were at the nominated short documentaries! Still interesting but perhaps not as much fun.
