I’m presently reading on Kindle Dreyer’s English by Benjamin Dreyer and I have to say I’m learning a lot about what rules of English I can break and when I should perhaps be more cautious about doing so. I’m also glad that I have the written text in front of me rather than attempting to follow his writing via an audiobook which, I think, would have been extremely problematic. There are just too many examples of where (for example) commas are used incorrectly and I don’t know how a listener would get the point he is literally showing in the text. I see that my local library does have the audio version of this book, and I’m tempted to borrow it…
